Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Draft for product integration — pending review by legal counsel before launch.
How cancellations and refunds work on AwjPass. When you book, you reserve a service from a venue for a specific date and time; the venue is the seller of the service and AwjPass collects payment on its behalf.
1. The venue's cancellation window
Each venue sets its own cancellation window (for example, free cancellation up to 24 hours before the appointment), shown to you before you confirm and on your booking.
Cancel within that window and you're eligible for a refund of amounts you paid online. Cancel after it — or don't show up — and the venue may retain some or all of the payment or a deposit, as stated in its policy.
2. Your statutory rights (Consumer Protection Law 181/2018)
Egyptian consumer law gives you rights including cancelling certain online orders (generally within 7 days), returning goods for a refund (generally within 14 days), and refund/replacement of defective or non-conforming goods (within 30 days). These rights are not affected by this policy.
Important for dated services: a booked appointment or class for a specific date/time is a dated service, not a physical good. The general cooling-off refund may not apply once the reserved time is imminent or the service has been provided; there, the venue's cancellation window governs.
3. No-shows and deposits
If a venue requires a deposit and you do not attend or cancel late, the venue may retain the deposit or charge a no-show fee, as disclosed at booking.
4. How refunds are made
Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method through Paymob; timing depends on your bank or card issuer. Pay-at-venue bookings are refunded by the venue directly.
If a venue cancels your booking or fails to provide the service, you are entitled to a full refund of what you paid online.
5. Credits & promotions
Referral credits, promotional discounts, and free credits are not redeemable for cash and may be reversed if a booking is refunded or if abuse is detected.
6. How to request a cancellation or refund
Cancel in the app (My Bookings → Cancel), contact the venue, or email support@awjpass.com. Refund disputes are handled between you and the venue; AwjPass helps facilitate and, where it collected the payment, processes an approved refund.
